The distance, the path, and the curvature; all sights to behold but were it not for taking a step out into faith there would be no journey of taking shape, root taking hold, or story to be told. To go out on a limb; the road less traveled and shaky ground, all eliciting images of perhaps endurance and valiant efforts but without action and commitment become just another echo in an honorable mention amidst the forest and the trees. A hand up to hold and nook to climb…a notched vantage to gaze upon the horizon and to stay steadfast as a watchman that otherwise would be none the wiser.
How long to go and the time remaining remains inconsequential as the world spins the landscape chips away at the fickle but also breathes power and molds the faithful. The breeze tears underfoot and wears away at the unequally yoked, but sews trust and solidifies the ground as the walk to be walked parsing out and separating sheep from goats, and the wheat from its chaff. Providing and proving the grain that has been gone against not only stays intact but instills that the roots rising as a high vine only can do so with a steadfast step out in faith, a reliant hand up, and a look towards a higher power.
A sort of evidence as light; a revealing, and a proof of concept in which otherwise would be intangible as immobilized and meaningless muttered words, but rather can then be shared as a carrying-on of motion, in, and through dark times. A reassurance of how far a good word can travel; a hedge against petty nagging uncertainty, and a grindstone to press on for as the future promises are ever closer. The day to rise in the east and to rest in the west, and continuity that unfolds as life presents its' challenges but overcomes as the good news of life and more abundantly strengthens and lifts up those who venture upon the roaming road and go the extra mile within.
John 15:13-15 "Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. 14 You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. 15 No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you."
Matthew 5:13-14 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. 14 You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden."
Matthew 11:28-30 "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."
Matthew 5:41 "And whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two."
